Project 5: Arusha Future Stars Academy

Arusha Future Stars Academy (FSA) is a football academy for youth and young adults. In addition to football, the focus at FSA, however, is mainly being a Youth-Empowerment Movement, with a focus on the vulnerable youth of Arusha. They are working on this empowerment by three so-called 'core activities':

  • Training

  • Education

  • Competition

Core insight is the use of football in all its aspects, as a means to inspire the vulnerable youth of Arusha and motivate them to be involved model-citizens. Through football and the way FSA lets them experience this, they learn dealing with certain factors of life, and they will become strong. Teamwork, positivity, healthy living and dedication are core values.

The best or most dedicated footballers are being selected for the main team in their age group, the Black Mambas, competing in the regional competition.

In2Afrika would like to put in her own abilities and connections in the football-world to help FSA. We as founders of In2Afrika ourselves of course, like to play some ball. Perhaps it will be possible to provide a classical Dutch-School football training for the children based at FSA.

Furthermore, we may be able to establish a connection between our own football club in the Netherlands (FC Geleen Zuid) for sustainable cooperation. Such cooperation may consist of a variety of forms: supporting the exchange of knowledge and skills, football gear, fundraising, and so on! Maybe a design which is could get a more durable character, with the future in mind!

Finally, In2Afrika will have to figure out if a targeted donation for FSA can make a difference and where this donation should go to/ can be invested in.

All this will be looked at in the preparation up to our trip. Keep on following us and the FSA project!
